ANNA MARIA ISLAND WEEKEND VIBES
Back in September, I finally got to experience Anna Maria Island for the first time for our friend @travbelsito’s birthday, and we had such a fun weekend exploring the island! Huge shoutout to @mckinna_anderson for looping us in and dropping the insider tips.
Anna Maria Island is only 7 miles long, but it packs the kind of chill, Old-Florida magic that feels like a whole different world.
Here are a dozen things to do, feel free to steal them for your trip.
Anna Maria Island Weekend Checklist
1. Sunrise coffee run at @northshorecafe_ami before hitting the beach. FYI, they also host yoga. Hit up your local AMI yoga teacher @hi_im_mckinna.
2. Try to find a whole sand dollar. Your best chance is during low tide.
3. Stop by the Old City Jail for a quick and quirky photo op.
4. Wakeskate through the clear water and mangroves.
5. Book a paddleboard/kayak tour or rental with @ami_paddleboard (they also cover Bradenton + Longboat Key)
6. Boat day to Jewfish Key and hang out on the clear water sandbar.
7. Hit @devsbevs_ for a delicious fresh juice pit stop.
8. Visit the oldest surf shop in Florida, @westcoastsurfshop.
9. Smash a burger at @skinnysplaceamisland, an “Old Florida Original” with the best burgers on the island.
10. Check out the local skate park in Holmes Beach. It’s free, beginners to experts are welcome and it has a mellow bowl.
11. Grab an AMI souvenir from @ginnysandjanees Cafe and Gift Store to remember your trip.
12. And finally, catch the sunset at Bean Point — it’s one of the most iconic views in Florida.
